Kazakh and Russian scientists have developed a concept of “Sustainable energy strategies for the future of Kazakhstan till 2050”
A panel session of the VI Astana Economic Forum on “Strategy for a sustainable energy future of Kazakhstan” will be held on 23 May, 2013. The concept of the “Strategy of Sustainable Energy Future of Kazakhstan till 2050” has been specially developed for the Global Energy Strategy by scientists from Kazakhstan and Russia, balancing energy, economy & environment.
Kazakhstan’s initiatives on energy and environment – Global Energy Strategy and a “Green Bridge” Partnership Programme received support of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio +20, held on 20-22 June 2012. As a result, goals and objectives of Global Energy Strategy were included into a separate paragraph on “Energy” Rio +20 result document “The future we want.”
Also, the session will discuss the implementation and the integration into a single concept of the following regional and global energy initiatives: Strategies for a sustainable energy future in Kazakhstan; EXPO-2017 “Energy of the Future”; UN’s “Sustainable Energy for All”; “Green Bridge” and “Green Growth” programmes; Kazakhstan’s transition to a “green economy” and others.
