PPC Blue Romania, part of the PPC group in Romania, has brought into service the 7 ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles installed on the premises of Henri Coandă International Airport, Bucharest. The stations, with a power of 200 kW each, were put into function after the company won the tender organized by the National Company Bucharest Airports.
Thus, PPC blue has installed in the North parking area of Henri Coandă International Airport a modern infrastructure, made up of 7 charging stations of 200 kW each, serving a total of 14 charging points. The total installed power is 1.4 MW, ensuring reduced charging times and a high capacity to serve users.
“We are happy to announce that the 7 ultra-fast stations at Henri Coandă Airport are operational and available to electric car users. Otopeni Airport is one of the most dynamic transit points in the country, and our presence here is a clear signal that charging infrastructure must be where people need it. We are proud to be able to offer, from now on, a sustainable mobility solution at Romania’s largest airport”, said Andreea-Dana Popescu, General Manager of PPC Blue Romania.
The new stations are located in the parking area near the Departures Terminal, offering electric vehicle users a fast and convenient charging solution. The contract, awarded following the tender carried out through the Romanian Commodities Exchange on 18 March 2026, has a duration of five years.
Through this project, PPC blue is expanding its network – one of the largest in Romania – and brings state-of-the-art technology to Otopeni Airport, designed to meet the growing demand for electric mobility solutions.
In Romania, PPC blue currently operates more than 1,400 charging points across all the country’s counties, an increase of approximately 27% compared with the end of last year, with a total installed power of over 46 MW, thereby consolidating its position as one of the largest charging infrastructure operators in Romania. PPC blue offers integrated electric mobility solutions to residential customers, companies and public institutions throughout the country.
This year, PPC blue’s investments follow the same strategic direction: integrating electric mobility both into daily life and into long journeys. Thus PPC blue will continue developing the infrastructure in three complementary directions: densifying the charging network in areas where people already spend their time (retail, business districts, areas of interest, campuses, industrial parks and tourist areas), where charging becomes a natural part of daily activity rather than a dedicated stop; investing in balanced infrastructure through fast stations for transit, as well as AC charging in residential and proximity areas to support the concept of slow living and to reduce pressure on the grid. And, last but not least, integration with green energy and storage solutions, so that the infrastructure becomes an active element in the energy ecosystem, not just a point of consumption.
The PPC blue app can be downloaded from AppStore or Google Play. It allows users to view the available charging stations and choose the charging services suited to their needs (subscriptions or Charge & Pay). Through the app, users can plan their trips and use both the PPC blue charging stations in Romania and those in Greece. In fact, PPC Blue Romania is the first company in the country to offer customers charging subscriptions with included units (1 unit = 1 kWh), also providing a free towing service. Depending on the consumption level, there are three options: PPC blueLite (60 charging units included), PPC bluePlus (120 charging units included) and PPC blueMax (200 charging units included). Customers can charge using the mobile app or an RFID card linked to the active profile.
Drivers benefit from a technical assistance service with support provided by a dedicated team, available 24/7, at the number 0800 801 158.
PPC blue installs charging infrastructure in Romania in shopping centres, supermarkets, restaurants and hotels that wish to attract electric car users, as well as in public spaces made available by municipalities interested in improving air quality by encouraging electric mobility.
In 2025, drivers who charged their electric cars at PPC blue stations travelled a total of over 18,000,000 km, the equivalent of 453 laps around the Earth, recording an average of 0.20 kWh per km. As a result of these charging sessions, they contributed to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 2,945 tonnes/year.
PPC Blue Romania is part of the PPC Group, with a tradition of more than 70 years in Greece, a leader in the energy sector in South-Eastern Europe, which has made a commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection by promoting clean energy sources. Electric mobility plays a central role in this vision for the future. DEI blue, the brand dedicated to electric mobility launched by PPC in 2021 in Greece, has already made a name for itself through the electric mobility services offered to individuals, companies and public administration throughout Greece. The objective of becoming a leader in the region’s new electric mobility market, by making significant investments to develop, manage and operate the most extensive electric car charging network and by providing innovative services, describes PPC’s ambitious plan.
