PPC Blue România, part of the PPC group of companies in Romania, has won the auction organised by the Bucharest Airports National Company to install 7 hyper-fast charging stations for electric vehicles at Henri Coandă International Airport Bucharest. The agreement provides for the commissioning of the stations, with a power of 200 kW each, by June 29th of this year.
The stations will have two charging points each and will be located in the parking lot near the Departures Terminal, offering electric vehicle users a quick and convenient charging solution. The contract, awarded following the auction held through the Romanian Commodity Exchange on March 18th, 2026, has a duration of five years.
“We are happy to contribute to the development of the electric mobility infrastructure in such an important point as Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport. For us, it is a natural step in expanding the national network and an opportunity to offer electric car users modern, fast and easy-to-access services. We believe that such projects make a difference in the widespread adoption of sustainable transport”, said Andreea-Dana Popescu, General Director of PPC Blue Romania.
Thus, PPC blue will install a modern infrastructure in the North parking lot of Henri Coandă International Airport, consisting of 7 hyper fast charging stations of 200 kW each, which will serve a total of 14 recharging points. The total installed power will be 1.4 MW, with an absorbed power of 1.2 MW, thus ensuring reduced charging times and a high capacity to serve users.
Through this project, PPC blue expands its network – one of the largest in Romania – and brings state-of-the-art technology to Otopeni Airport, designed to meet the growing demand for electric mobility solutions. In Romania, PPC blue operates over 1100 charging points in all counties of the country, with a total installed power of over 36 MW, doubling not only the number of points, but also the number of fast and hyper fast charging stations. PPC blue offers integrated electric mobility solutions to residential customers, companies and public institutions across the country.
The stations will be installed and commissioned by June 29th, 2026 at the latest, which reflects the company’s commitment to the rapid and efficient implementation of the project.
In 2026, PPC blue’s investments will pursue the same strategic direction: the integration of electric mobility both in everyday life and during long journeys. Thus, PPC blue will continue to develop the infrastructure in three complementary directions: densifying the charging network in areas where people already spend their time (retail, business districts, areas of interest, campuses, industrial parks and tourist areas), where charging becomes a natural part of daily activity, not a dedicated stop; investments in a balanced infrastructure through fast transit stations, but also AC charging in residential and proximity areas to support the concept of slow living and reduce pressure on the grid. And, last but not least, integration with green energy and storage solutions, so that infrastructure becomes an active element in the energy ecosystem, not just a point of consumption.
The PPC blue app can be downloaded from the AppStore or Google Play. This allows you to view the available charging stations and choose the charging services that suit your users’ needs (subscriptions or Charge & Pay). Through the app, users can organize their trips and use both PPC blue charging stations in Romania and Greece. In fact, PPC Blue Romania is the first in the country to offer customers charging subscriptions with units included (1 unit = 1 kWh), also offering free towing service. Depending on the level of consumption, there are three options: PPC blueLite (60 charging units included), PPC bluePlus (120 charging units included) and PPC blueMax (200 charging units included). Customers can upload using the mobile app or an RFID card associated with the active profile.

PPC blue installs charging infrastructure in Romania in shopping centers, supermarkets, restaurants and hotels that want to attract electric car users, as well as in public spaces made available by municipalities interested in improving air quality by encouraging electric mobility.
In 2025, drivers who charged their electric cars at PPC blue stations drove a total of more than 18,000,000 km, the equivalent of 453 laps around the Earth, recording an average of 0.20 kWh per km. Following the charging sessions, they contributed to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 2,945 tonnes/year.
PPC Blue Romania is part of the PPC Group, with a tradition of over 70 years in Greece, a leader in the field of energy in South-Eastern Europe, which has made a commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection by promoting clean energy sources. Electric mobility plays a central role in this vision for the future. DEI blue, the brand dedicated to electric mobility launched by PPC in 2021 in Greece, has already made a name for itself through its electric mobility services offered to individuals, companies and public administration throughout Greece. The objective of becoming a leader in the new electric mobility market in the region, by making significant investments for the development, management and operation of the most extensive electric car charging network and by providing innovative services, describes the ambitious plan of the PPC.
