“European Fund for Strategic Investment provides the Union with a unique opportunity to relaunch the long-term investment in our infrastructure”, said Adina Vălean, vice-president of the European Parliament.

The MEP attended a conference dedicated to European Fund for Strategic Investment-Juncker Plan where she mentioned that “we need to start spending the EU budget in a smart way by attracting in a private investment.” The subject of the conference was the Fund’s first report published by the European Investment Bank.
„We need to use EFSI as a vehicle for turning infrastructure investment into liquid asset that can be pulled and traded on European market. Institution investors will be attracted with the EFSI only if we manage to create standardized investment products”, added Adina Vălean.
“Another important steps is how other promotional bans can accelerate the development of investment platforms and other. If we develop a large enough of investment platform which pull SME into larger portofolium we will be able to jump start SME financing creating a close Europe”, mentioned vice-president of the European Parliament.
The conference was attended by Adina Valean, Jacques De Larosiere, former governor of the Central Bank of France and managing director of IMF, Jyrki Katainen, European Commissioner for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, Jean-Christophe Laloux, head of operation at European Investment Bank and Wilhelm Molterer, EFSI Managing Director.
